内地女工董知书（金燕玲 饰）和香港当铺商人江苏（罗家英 饰）结婚，生育了两个聪明伶俐的女儿江海潮和江海澜。在海潮8岁、海澜5岁的时候，终于申请到移居香港的签证，不料知书带着一对女儿来港时在火车站遭人抢手袋，恰巧过气古惑仔阿文路过，和知书一起追赶贼人。这时一个拐子将5岁的海澜抱走，海潮本来有机会叫救命救回妹妹，然而出于私心她没有吭声。一晃二十年过去了，海潮（张文慈 饰）已经成为香港出色的律师，还和城中富商齐家的三公子同是律师的齐震宇（陈启泰 饰）拍了拖；而知书因为内疚而每年都仍和阿文回大陆找寻海澜的消息；海澜（叶璇 饰）则被一对医生收养并在国内完成了大学学业。一次知书上大陆寻找海澜时发生了车祸，主治医生恰巧就是海澜的养母，因知书血型特殊，海澜的养母想起海澜也是这种血型，于是叫她来医院捐血，母女俩因此而重逢。和母亲一起来到香港的海澜发现姐姐海潮事业、爱情双丰收，不禁十分嫉妒，认为自己沦落到今日的田地都是姐姐害得，于是暗暗决心报复……。We follow the hits and (more often than not) the misses of two hapless, dead-broke contract killers who frankly, are more of a danger to themselves than to anyone else.
