不久，一系列的麻烦接踵而至……由于学生家长到市教委告状，育华中学到手的年度先进被教委撤消了。面对诸多微言，任新茫然了，他不得不向校长递交了辞职报告。然而校长却拒绝了他的辞职请求，反而向上级建议由任新担任育华中学下一届的校长。得到校长支持的任新表示自己充满信心，愿意竞选上岗，为祖国的教育事业做出更大的贡献。。
