搞笑短片动画《gdgd妖精s》描写的是皮克匹克、希露希露和库洛库洛三位妖精的日常搞笑故事，采用全CG技术制作，每话包括三位妖精的日常聊天、在“精神与时间小屋”使用魔法进行比赛，以及通过镜之湖来观察“另一边”的世界等几个环节。动画第一期曾于2011年秋在NICONICO动画网站和TOKYO MX电视台放送，虽然所使用的CG技术可以用“拙劣”来形容，但是凭借有趣的吐槽向情节在日本网络上有很高的人气。 本作主要策划人为CGI制作出道的菅原状太，由其一手担当企划、影像监督及角色设计的工作。全部影像均用到日本当地MAD片和二次创作的制作技术，涉及的3D软件包括MikuMikuDance、Shade及六角大王等。而有别于2D动画，本作大部分的内容是配音工作完成以后才开始制作影像。而第1期官方网站就曾经公开承认，本作的制作预算相对紧拙，大部分的影像制作只能逼在播放...。Disarmingly realistic in its depiction of the realities of frontier life, Heartland is a strong antidote to the cliches of traditional Westerns. Pearce worked as a cinematographer on Woodstock and other documentaries before making his directorial debut.
