影片以新中国第一位“特级英雄”杨根思为原型进行创作。讲述了抗美援朝期间，杨根思率领三连开拔长津湖，在下碣隅里外围小高岭，击退美军陆战一师8轮进攻，最终在弹药耗尽，血战至全排仅剩2名伤员的情况下，杨根思抱起最后的炸药包发起冲锋，用自己的生命保卫阵地的故事。。From an abandoned apartment in the suburbs of Belgrade, a persevering reminiscence of nightmares mix with the memories from childhood.
