位于岐阜县某个毗邻青山绿水的清新小镇，在同学经营的诊所担当护士的单身女子玉井静流（常盘贵子饰）与温柔的奶奶樱（八千草薰饰）、挑剔聒噪的母亲时江（根岸季衣饰）相守度日。生活波澜不惊，却也令人感叹日常的无聊与烦闷。因工作原因，静流为孩子们采购治疗间隙阅读的绘本，自然而然想起儿时读过的绘本《向月亮祈祷的小丑》。通过网络，她从居住在东京的男子户服航（谷原章介饰）手中买到这本书。书中夹了一张手写的点心作法便条，这张纸片跨越空间的距离，将素未谋面的静流和航连接在一起…… 本片根据北川悦吏子的原作改编。。After Hassan, a Tunisian mechanic, starts spying on Mara, a young substitute teacher waiting to leave for Brazil, she drives him away but then begins to date him.
