影片讲述一位小说家以他偷窥的玻璃庭院中的女人作为新小说的素材，却无意揭开了一个秘密事件的故事。。1950年代，某城市。洪磊光（舒适 饰）教授与黄蔚文（项堃 饰）都是微生物学家，二人还是多年的好友，在最近共同期研制开发抵抗302病菌新药时，双方却产生很大分歧。洪磊光工作中雷厉风行，大胆启用青年知识分子，鼓励年青人凡事创新，而黄蔚文则墨守成规，凡事亲历亲为，连助手都不能大胆使用。洪磊光认为，即是联合研发，尽量不去打消黄的工作情绪，有时从大局考虑他还主动向黄示好。但敏感的黄蔚文并不领情，在一次会上听到身为所长的洪磊光批评保守主义思想，黄愤然提出辞职。洪磊光仍夜以继日的工作，因劳累过度，他昏倒在实验室内，不幸被病菌感染，闻迅后的黄蔚文悔不当初，接手了未尽的研发任务，那么感染病菌的洪磊光能救过来吗......。Condemned to see only when the night falls, the abandoned blind sisters with the untraceable past, Louise and Henriette, share a horrible secret.
