剧中人赖瑞在生活中总会因为各种琐事让自己身陷麻烦、囧态百出。赖瑞的泳池里淹死了人，警察告知其有可能因为泳池没有围篱笆而惹上麻烦。紧接着他收到了来自死者哥哥马可仕的敲诈，于是只能以对方女儿玛丽亚参演赖瑞的新剧作为条件。但玛丽亚演技糟糕，赖瑞非常头疼。赖瑞在参加竞选市长的会议上认识了市议员俄玛，他想要拉拢俄玛，以废除游泳池旁边必须围篱笆的法律，借此将玛利亚踢出剧组。赖瑞去参加艺术展，遇到华特，为了不跟华特拥抱，在躲闪中踩到狗屎。赖瑞乘展厅没人时，将艺术展上的鞋穿回了家。没想到这个鞋子是俄玛外公生前的鞋子。俄玛非常难过，去酒吧买醉，结果错过了会议，导致游泳池法案没有通过。。Season One Deep in the heart of Louisiana lies America’s largest swamp--a million miles of inhospitable bayous, marshes and wetlands where nature rules and humans struggle to tame it.
