影片根据六道热门小说改编，二十个世纪90年代，商业大亨谢文东脱离商界，回到东北农村生活，改造木材厂带领村民发家致富的故事。故事背景刚好发生在我国经济开始腾飞的时期，影片也从侧面反映了当时地方小微企业发展的景象。Alan Rickman has signed on to play the legendary owner and founder of CBGB in Randall Miller and Jody Savin’s project revolving the seminal New York rock club.
