香港会计师陈太圆只身到温哥华会合太太Beauty，怎料Beauty移情别恋。圆唯有投靠小学吴二牛之妹吴桂芳，桂乃唐人街大家姐，性格冲动但有义气。正当圆桂之“友谊”日渐巩固，却传二人发生超友谊关系，圆不欲有损桂之名节，假意召妓。桂得悉一恕之下赶走圆，但终于桂冰释前嫌。一次当桂见其昔日手下被人欺负，沉不住气出手，刚好圆目睹，两人关系再度破裂。此时怪人岳华出现，点化圆，爱一个人便要把她的缺点一并接受，圆终跑往洗衣店示爱，并公开二人之关系。。The movie follows the original tale in a somewhat loose fashion, but manages to retain the majority of the images and action.
