竜に変身することのできる竜堂家の四兄弟が、人界や天界の悪と戦うSFファンタジー。原作は『銀河英雄伝説』などで知られる人気作家・田中芳樹の代表作のひとつで、現在までに13巻が刊行されている小説シリーズ。原作第1～4巻のストーリーを、OVA全12話で描いている。監督は出崎統、鹿島典夫、鳥海永行、御厨恭輔で、各々が3話ずつ担当。後にCLAMPや恵広史によるコミック版や、ドラマCDなども発売された。 竜堂家の始・続・終・余は、竜王の子孫にあたる四人兄弟。ある時、四男の余が謎の男たちに襲撃された。そんな折、共和学院の理事である長男の始は、理事長である義叔父から辞表を提出するよう求められる。2つの出来事の裏には、四人兄弟を狙う日本政財界の黒幕“鎌倉の御前”の陰謀があった。。A serial killer stalks the streets of West Hollywood on a wild and wooly Halloween night in this gay horror tale.
