This story is based where the skateboard culture is the most foreign, the Midwest. Derrick Cabrera, like all skaters, has a dream of being sponsored and one day going pro. He is an up and coming skater with all the talent but has the world against him. Parents, friends and schoolmates can't understand how Derrick has so much passion for something that has no future in their eye...。二十年前，陆氏集团风云突变，二姨太妄图将集团的香水秘方据为己有，东窗事发后，被逐出家门的惩处，决定报复陆氏集团。 她拐走年幼的陆氏集团千金陆湘，二姨太编造出遭仇人追杀的谎话，陆湘改名谢湘，还强迫她扮丑，以此来隐藏身份，彻底切断与陆家的关联。。离乡多年的雷福兴，因为儿子意外离世（儿子公园湖里救人），加之对儿子从小到大抚养的愧疚之情，想带着儿子的骨灰回到家乡，落叶归根，让儿子入土为安。但回乡之后，却遇到了重重阻挠，身为族长的二叔因为“老的不死，小的不能进祖坟”族训，不允许福兴儿子埋进祖坟，福兴面对着陈旧的族训，进行了作为父亲和新时代思想对封建一派的抗争。最终，那教条般的陈规还是成为了无法弥合的枷锁，福兴只能带着儿子的骨灰，在北方的原野中独孤的游荡。。
