繁华大都市东京，某仓库发生剧烈爆炸。警方初步调查认定这是一场意外，但警视厅搜查一课第四强行犯12系女刑警蛯名舞子（栗山千明 饰）却坚信此案背后另有隐情。纵使主任泽俊一（北村一辉 饰）推翻了她的论断，可是这个冒失执着被同伴当作花瓶的女孩还是决定追查真相。在现场，舞子偶然见到一个闪着纯真无邪目光、行为有些古怪的男子——冒失鬼（中居正广 饰）。冒失鬼喃喃自语，而那些看似密码的语句却为案情提供重要线索。 原来冒失鬼是一名患有学者症候群的青年。他那常人所不具备的“超能力”在之后的日子里帮助舞子解决了一桩桩扑朔迷离的案件……。The last thing Eddie Mills (Larry Clarke) wants to do is go home to deal with his dying Dad (Brian Dennehy).
