Distinguished constitutional historian David Starkey looks at the origins of the Great Chart...。故事发生在春秋末年，当时吴越大战，越王勾践（马德钟 饰）因不听范蠡（陈浩民 饰）谏言，结果越国大败，勾践被迫卧心尝胆三年。为色诱好色的吴王夫差（马景涛 饰），越国选美送往敌国，相国告诉勾践唯西施（邬倩倩 饰）方能胜任，但与西施倾心的范蠡怎甘心将心爱之人送予吴王，但为了光复越国，深明大义的西施踏上了去往敌国的路途。伍子胥（李国华 饰）知其有诈，劝夫差不要留下越国送来的美女，但好色的夫差岂能放走送到嘴边的珍馐。为取悦吴王，西施与另一越国美女郑旦（赵志瑶 饰）日夜周旋于敌国的君王身边，而雄才大略的范蠡则在痛苦中忍受煎熬……。
