改编自路遥先生的经典中篇小说《人生》。故事以80年代改革时期陕北高原的城乡生活为时空背景起点，讲述了高加林、高双星、刘巧珍、黄雅萍等一批青年人走出黄土高原，来到上海，在改革开放大潮中，感情与事业上几经波折，几个人不断奋斗、拼搏， 改变人生命运的真挚故事。。年轻的自由摄影师Thun这日携女友Jane与大学同窗聚会完毕开车归家，途中Jane将一名飘忽而至的女子撞倒在地。Jane欲下车查看女子伤势，被Thun劝阻，两人匆忙逃离肇事现场。Jane开始终日坐立不安，并指责Thun冷血，Thun只叫她放宽心莫多虑。 Jane的担心并非多余，一连串怪事紧接将他们找上：Thun所拍的许多照片上多出一个模糊的女影、颈部莫名疼痛起来、那日聚会的同窗先后跳楼死去……两人更在暗室多次突然陷入恐怖氛围中。为了摆脱噩梦，Jane决定展开深入调查，与Thun有关的一个女子的悲惨经历慢慢浮出水面。。Adapted by Virginie Verrier and Brigitte Tanguy from the biography Ne jamais rien lâcher, the script traces the career of Marinette Pichon over three decades.
