该片翻拍自电影《杀手悲歌 El Mariachi》。 在墨西哥的一所监狱内，一名中国香港籍男子差点遭到同伙卡洛斯的杀人灭口，越狱后他决定去复仇，他随身带着一个吉他包，里面放着枪支。阿辉（黎明饰）刚从香港来到墨西哥，他也背着一个吉他盒，却被误认为是越狱的杀手，到处被人追杀。在逃亡中被酒吧的老板娘贺凝（叶玉卿饰）所救，渐渐地日 久生情。贺的哥哥贺泉被卡洛斯所杀害，贺凝为了弄清真相才留在墨西哥的。这时那位杀手也来到酒吧，原来杀手和贺的哥哥是好朋友都是帮卡洛斯做事的。阿辉被卡洛斯的爪牙抓走，贺凝和那杀手前去解救，但阿辉半路得逃，得知贺去救他，又去卡洛斯处救贺，双方展开一场大战，结果贺凝和那杀手都中枪死去，阿辉用贺凝教他的刀法杀死了卡洛斯为贺报了仇，然后继续他的旅行生涯。。Thien Bao and Dinh Huy accidentally met on a blind date when Huy was hired to be the lover of a girl who came to force Bao to refuse the arranged marriage between him and that girl.
