1942年，正在抗日战争焦灼之时，日军突袭新四军在北方地区的一处兵工厂，保卫兵工厂的独立团特务连浴血奋战，终因寡不敌众，阵地失守，连长孔圆被俘。孔圆的哥哥孔方是一名大学数学教授，精通数学逻辑分析，曾留学日本，对日军的情况有所了解。在新四军帮助下，孔方和未婚妻——心理学教授向海音混进日军占领区，里应外合，发动反攻，成功救出了弟弟和兵工厂人员并夺回了阵地。本剧取材于黄崖洞兵工厂保卫战以及众多兵工厂事迹，用普通人的事迹展现出一幅各阶层人民联合抗战的生动历史画卷。。‘Treasures from the Wreck of the Unbelievable’ charts the story behind Damien Hirst’s most ambitious project to date.
