1941年12月、日本側の真珠湾攻撃によって幕を開けた太平洋戦争の始まりから80年。本作はのちの真珠湾攻撃を指揮する提督・山本五十六が国家の命運を背負い、開戦前のロンドンで軍縮交渉に臨む姿を描いた実録ドラマだ。アメリカの絶大な国力を知り、戦争は避けるべきと考えた五十六。組織の中で板挟みになりながら、ぎりぎりまで決裂回避への道を探り続ける五十六の“ある決断”が描かれる。。The story is set in the 1930s, somewhere in the mountains in Romania. It centres on Simion, a ranger who lives like a hermit in the middle of the forest. One day, he stumbles upon a beaten-up woman, Irina, and tries to find out who has hurt her. He also tries to stay away from her but fails.。
