影片灵感源自2020年6月在报纸上刊登的一篇描写某少女壮烈人生的报道：出生在残缺家庭、沉溺于毒品的少女，遇到了打破常规的刑警和采访重获新生设施的周刊杂志记者，开始了回归正轨的道路。但是，就在她抓住一丝希望的时候，绝望的现实却向她袭来。。Photographer Greg Nolan meets Bernice, and loses both his job and his apartment.
